2012 Gewurztraminer - Sawmill Creek
The 2012 vintage was an almost impossibly perfect vintage. The Gewurztraminer from Sawmill Creek Vineyards arrived after an early morning pick perfectly ripe, redolent of lychee and rose, a healthy pink color with absolutely no disease pressure to speak of. With 8 years of bottle age this wine shows incredible sugar integration with the fruit and spice that only Gewurztraminer can deliver. The Sawmill Creek Vineyard site shows ripeness and power. Grapes are pushed to high maturity and sugar, and vinified to a very dry style showing alcoholic strength, fruit intensity and textural complexity. Expected to age into a silky, compelling style.
