Sunday Music with Dr. Bob and Dr. John

Dr. Bob and Dr. John will once again bring their combined talents to Red Newt. Their music always creates a relaxed atmosphere perfect for a Sunday afternoon.

Bob Keefe was born in Los Angeles and raised in Fresno, California, Bob started playing guitar at age 14. His first professional gig was at 15. He holds a PhD in Music from the University of North Texas and has resided in Ithaca since 1987. He has taught guitar and music at Ithaca College, The
University of South Florida, and Cornell University and has performed with Clark Terry, Phil Woods, Eugene Friesen, Johnny Smith, and Steve Morse. He is the consummate guitarist, loves playing all styles of guitar, and is in high demand as a guitar teacher.

John White specializes in diversity and is equally at home in the worlds of jazz, classical, and popular music. He has performed with a number of artists such as Paul Hanson, Mike Tomaro, Joe Negri, Wycliffe Gordon, and Roger Humphries. In the past few years he has been increasingly active as a clinician at workshops devoted to jazz theory and improvisation. John is currently Associate Professor of Music Theory, History, and Composition at Ithaca College, as well as the Ithaca College Vocal Jazz Ensemble.

Bob and John have been performing together since 1998.
